Can You Apply for Chase Southwest Personal and Business Card on the Same Day?
Southwest Airline has 4 different versions of credit cards offered by Chase, currently at 50k bonus points.
Southwest Premier (personal) (via flyertalk)
Southwest Premier (business)
Southwest Plus (personal)
Southwest Plus (business)
(I do not receive any commission from the above offer links, I’m just happy to share the deals with you)
Other bloggers have written that it is possible to be approved for both the business and personal cards on the same day. So, I set out to try and apply for both cards in January. I received instant approval for my personal card and a letter from Chase denying my business card application. I called the consideration line, (I usually get approved after calling), however, to my surprise, I was told they will look into it and will send me a mail for the final answer. CSR also mentioned that I have too many Chase business cards (even though I had a registered business for the last 7 years). Yesterday, I received a second letter denying my application.
This has happened twice on the Chase Southwest Cards for my spouse and me. We have both been rejected for the business card when we try to apply for both cards on the same day (using double browsers, clearing cookies, pressing the submit buttons at the same time didn’t do the trick anymore) After two strikes, my conclusion is to wait at least 3 months between the business and personal cards applications especially because I already had a lot of Chase cards. It might be the case that people get approved for both cards if they do not have a lot of Chase cards. YMMV
However, it seems that Chase is not as strict with the personal cards. So, if I have to choose which two to apply on the same day, I will definitely apply for a personal premiere and personal plus.
